 Now Hiring: Municipal Emergency Coordinator (Contract Position)

The RM of Argyle is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as our Municipal Emergency Coordinator (MEC) on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain the Municipal Emergency Plan.
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities.
  • Train elected officials, municipal staff, and emergency response crews.
  • Organize and lead emergency exercises as required by regulation.
  • Communicate regularly with the CAO.
  • Collaborate with local fire departments, neighbouring communities, provincial emergency services, and related agencies.
  • Be available to assist with coordination during actual emergencies.

This is a flexible, part-time contract role.
A minimum of 40 hours per year is anticipated for emergency plan updates, training, and preparedness activities. Additional hours will be compensated if activated during real emergency events.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of emergency management principles and Manitoba’s Emergency Measures Act.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in emergency coordination, emergency services, or municipal government is an asset.
  • Willingness to attend training and work irregular hours when needed.
