The Rural Municipality of Argyle is seeking a
self-motivated individual for a part-time position as the Operator for the
LUD of Baldur. This is a part-time position based on approximately 20 hours
per week, generally Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will play an
important role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of the
LUD of Baldur for residents and visitors.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and beautification
of the LUD of Baldur.
- Perform mowing, snow removal, and other
seasonal maintenance duties within the Town of Baldur.
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment,
including mowers, snow blowers, and skid steers.
- Supervise seasonal or casual employees, when
required.
- Perform other
Public Works duties as assigned, including assisting with rural road
maintenance and inspecting, cleaning, and stocking public washrooms.
Qualifications:
- Experience in municipal operations, utilities,
or public works is considered an asset.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain
municipal equipment.
- Ability
to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work
practices.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements
of the position.
- Ability to work cooperatively with Council,
supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and the public.
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Hours of Work &
Shift Flexibility:
- Regular Hours: Standard operating
hours are typically four (4) hours per day, running from 8:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m.
- Winter/Snow Demands: During snow events
where clearing or blowing is required, the workday may need to start
significantly earlier (e.g., 5:00 a.m.) to ensure town streets and
facilities are clear for the public.
- Flexible
Scheduling and Banked Time: Hours worked outside the regular schedule due
to operational requirements, including snow removal, will be credited on a
straight-time basis and may be taken as paid time off at a mutually agreed
upon time, subject to operational requirements and supervisor approval.
Compensation &
Benefits:
- Wages: Competitive
hourly wage, based on qualifications and experience.
- Benefits: The
successful candidate will be eligible to participate in the Municipality's
employee benefit plans, subject to the eligibility requirements of the
respective plans.
