Thinking of Running for Council? Let’s Talk.

The next Municipal Election will take place on October 28, 2026. Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at the RM Office? Do you have questions about the role of a council member but aren’t sure who to ask?

The RM of Argyle Administration is gauging interest in an Informal Information Session for residents considering running for office. This is a "no-pressure" session; attending does not mean you have to run; it’s simply a chance to get the facts before official registration opens.

The CAO will cover key topics, including:

  • A Day in the Life: Real talk about time commitments and meeting schedules.
  • The Big Picture: An overview of our Strategic Plan and current major projects.
  • The Rules: Important policies, the Council Code of Conduct, and how the election process works.
  • Financials: Understanding Council indemnity (compensation) and the municipal budget.

This session is staff-led only to provide a neutral environment where residents can comfortably ask questions.

To ensure enough interest and to choose a format that works for everyone, please let us know your preference by Friday, April 03, 2026.

Please Note: This session is tentatively planned for late April. Its occurrence will depend on community interest; if interest is low, the formal session will not proceed, though the CAO remains available to answer questions individually.
